Our day began with an exhilarating gondola ride that took us to great heights. While Kristen was a bit uneasy about the elevation, she managed well once we reached the top. Mom, Dad, and I explored a fire watch tower, which required climbing numerous stairs but rewarded us with a spectacular panoramic view of the surrounding area.
After descending, we visited the castle-like hotel in Banff, admiring its impressive interior. Then we dropped off Kristen, Brodie, and Oliver to our Airbnb for some rest.
Mom, Dad, and I embarked on a car ride to explore Canmore. We discovered a gravel road leading up the mountain, which seemed popular among other travellers. This path led us to a hidden gem - a serene lake with hiking trails. Along the way, we spotted many mountain goats. The journey took us about 25 minutes on a narrow, steep gravel road that sometimes barely accommodated one car. Our Palisade handled the challenging terrain admirably.
Next, we enjoyed a boat ride that offered breathtaking views of the water and landscape. We then returned to Banff to browse the shops and have dinner.
It was a long, action-packed day that left us wishing for more time to explore. Tomorrow, we're heading to Moose Jaw for a relaxing day by the pool before continuing our journey to Brandon.
Can't forget…Happy Birthday Brodie!! We had a little cake and sing along back at the Airbnb. 12 years old! Love you Brodie!
